Pray against Human Trafficking, Child Slavery and Slavery in Other Forms

Today we are coming before the Lord for those victims of people trafficking, child abuse and slavery in whatever form. Slavery is as old as the human race; ever since Satan has stolen Adam’s authority over the earth when he conquered him in the challenge to be more obedient to him (Satan) than to God, Adam’s lover and provider. According to John 10:10 Satan has come to kill, steal and destroy. Jesus has come so we can have abundant life. Was that not what He gave Adam at creation? But Adam, in a moment of selfishness, chose to be more obedient to the thief than to his Source.

William Wilberforce, John Newton and other abolitionists are rather famous for helping putting an end to slavery in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century, but as we follow the news today it is obvious that slavery has never ended. It only has changed face. Isaiah reprimanded Israel and all of Abraham’s children in his book’s chapter 58 as follows. I linked the whole chapter, but only quoted verse six here: “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?” If we live according to this direction that the Lord gave His nation in the whole chapter, we will have the rewards that He mentioned.

Some of us all over the world is in a position to physically help people involved in all kinds of slavery, but the best others can do is to be faithful in prayer. I have specifically used the word ‘involved’ just now, since it is not only the victims that need the Lord, but also those who enslave – the slave masters. Apart from those that abduct people from public areas and homes in order to take them far away into all kinds of slavery, we get men and women who enslave children who they know (even in some households) into sexual slavery by involving them in sex deeds and nudism at an early age of life. To them these sexual malpractices become the norm of life, just as one of the communist leaders once said: ‘Give me children under the age of six and I will make communists of them’. Children under the age of six are very susceptible and these children think that what they are taught is the correct way of life – the norm. The end thereof is that such children are taken captive into slavery by these sins and they are not even aware that it is wrong. Where are the harvesters of these poor victims? If you are brave enough to enter the dark holes of the Internet, you will be shocked at what Satan has managed because the church is a sleeping force.

We also get men enslaving their wives or partners into all kinds of ungodly behaviour as well as individuals their friends. This involves physical and spiritual slavery.

Let us pray:

1.      Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus and bring before you the works of Satan in this world.

2.      We thank you for what you have done in respect of slavery through your servants William Wilberforce, John Newton and others.

3.      However we bring before you modern day slavery that is termed human trafficking, sexual slavery, prostitution and so on.

4.      We submit ourselves to you and surrender all we are. We confess our sins and ask that you forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness as per 1 John 1:9.

5.      Now that we are pure in your presence, we resist the works of Satan in all areas of slavery and according to your Word as per James 4:7.

6.      We surrender Satan’s power, with regard to the minds and actions of slave masters of all kinds, to the feet of Jesus unto whom was given the highest name (Philippians 2:9-11) and sovereign power (Daniel 7:14). We trust you Lord that you would give your angels command concerning the evil forces involved in the minds of these evil men and women; to go at war against them and overcome them with the sovereign power of Jesus Christ, the name above all names. We declare all influence of satanic and demonic power in the hearts and minds of these people null and void.

7.      We ask Holy Spirit that you would enter the minds of these slave masters of all kinds all over the world, and convict them of their sin and the wickedness of their actions. Many of them do not realise what they are doing as Jesus has prayed on the cross at Calvary (Luke 23:34). We ask Holy Spirit that you would guide their thoughts like water in a watercourse (Proverbs 21:1), and would not stop until they surrender to your will.

8.      We bring before you the damaged and hurting souls that were victims of any form of slavery – whether control, domination, sexual slavery of any form, people trafficking, financial abuse and control – or whatever else, and ask Holy Comforter that you would cuddle them and bring them peace. We ask that you draw them closer to you, and send obedient believers their way to introduce them to the Prince of Peace. We ask for them to be healed and recovered from their pain and hurt and to be placed in a harbour of love and care.

9.      We ask that you deliver the children and adults, who were enslaved at a young age with thought patterns. These they do currently not even consider being wrong and inappropriate, since that was what they were taught at a susceptible age. Some of them do see that certain of their behaviours are not accepted in the community and that confuse them. Please send faithful and obedient believers their way to guide them in the right direction.

10.  Then we bring to you any other form of slavery not mentioned above, and ask that you deliver, comfort and support the victims as well as the slave masters.

11.  This we ask in the powerful name of Jesus Christ that is exalted above all names and we thank you in anticipation for the results. We believe that we have received what we have asked for (Mark 11:24).

Breaking Ham’s Curse

This may be hard to believe, but with God all things are possible and after praying much about this I am convinced that this is on the Lord's heart.

Recently, whilst making a few videos for children and getting to Noah's history, I was once again reminded of the curse spoken over Ham by his father Noah after Ham disrespected him, as recorded in Genesis 9:20-27:

Ham saw Noah naked in his tent and laughed at it, telling his brothers.

"But Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.

"So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him. Then he said:

'Cursed be Canaan; 

A servant of servants

He shall be to his brethren.'

"And he said:

'Blessed be the Lord,

The God of Shem,

And may Canaan be his servant. May God enlarge Japheth, and may he dwell in the tents of Shem; and may Canaan be his servant.'

At the time of reading this my first thought was whether it really was necessary for Noah to have been so rash, since this curse has brought endless problems on earth. In the diagram below we get an idea of who the descendants of Shem, Ham and Japheth are.

If we look at the state of certain parts of the world in the light of this curse and these descendents, especially Africa, we have clearer understanding of why certain peoples of the world suffer under the powers of manipulation and control, from either or both other nations and spiritual forces.

Poverty, violence, superstition, manipulation, control, corruption, abuse, AIDS and other illness, etcetera are simply much rifer amongst descendants of Ham.

One day I discussed this with my wife and a statement came almost simultaneously over both our lips. “In Jesus’ name any curse can be broken.” After much contemplation therefore I have felt that we need to pray against Noah’s curse, break it and start praying long awaited prosperity over the descendants of Ham. This will be done over the next few weeks.

Prayer Topics for this Prayer

Lord, in Jesus' name and by His authority

1.      We cancel, break and reverse the curse that Noah has spoken: In Jesus name Ham’s descendants will not be under the curse as spoken by Noah any more, and shall not be a servant to his brothers’ descendants any more. As with Shem and Japheth’s descendants, may God also enlarge and bless Ham’s descendants.

2.      We speak out against the hopelessness these people experience and proclaim prosperity and hope for them. May their land be prosperous and may they enjoy the resources their land offers from the soil above, from the depths of their underground treasures as well as from the waters of their land. May these resources not fall in the hands of foreigners and enrich them anymore, but bless and enrich those whom the land belongs to.

3.      May their leaders not abuse their subjects anymore or enrich themselves at the cost of those the land belongs to, but may the riches be equally divided between all.

4.      May they receive the same ability, motivation, enthusiasm, honour, self-esteem, wisdom, mental power and anything else they need to themselves develop the land that belongs to them.

5.      We declare that inabilities, weaknesses, lack in foresight and anything else that are lacking with all descendents of Ham as a result of the curse be restored by the power of the living God in Jesus name.

6.      We break the power of violence and pain that affect their lives and proclaim peace and healing to overtake them.

7.      We break the power of manipulation by human and spiritual forces and release freedom for those affected.

8.      We break the power of control by human and spiritual forces and release freedom to those affected.

9.      The following are the above forces that we bind and break off by name:

a.      Slavery

b.      Ancestral spirits

c.       Gang violence

d.      General violence

e.      Corruption

f.        Manipulation within the family

g.      Wars, rebellion, child soldiers

h.      Prostitution slavery

i.        Abuse of power

j.        Mismanagement of funds

k.       Poverty

l.        Misuse of the Gospel for financial gain and for obtaining   power and control.

This we declare into the heavenly realms overruling the areas affected by the curse in Jesus name.

Cancelling of Curses

People speak curses all the time, but we do not always realize we are doing it. James compared the tongue with a fire out of control (James 3). He mentioned that man has managed to control magnificent things. In his time James knew about horses and ships, but today we stand in even greater awe as to what man is able to control.

However, through the ages man has never been able to control the tongue and daily we murder character and personality; destroy people's opinions of others as well as creating unfair opinions of others; delaying, harming and even destroying people's destinies, etc. by means of what we say through gossip and criticism. Any word that harms anything about another is a curse and very few of us are not guilty of this. Satan and his demons specialize in making these curses manifest.

If we gossip about e.g. an individual, institution or a government we first of all create an unfair opinion in the minds of hearers, which often spread like fire through further gossip. These words, however, also reach the ears of evil forces who will gladly treat them as prophecies that they can make come true.

This week we are going to focus on the breaking of such curses, since Jesus came to set the captives free and anybody whose future, reputation or destiny are kept captive by words spoken irresponsibly or purposefully can be set free by reversing of such curses.

In this prayer we are going to:

• Confess and repent of curses we have spoken. Before you start listening to the sound clip and agreeing with it, take some time identifying specific curses you would like to confess, repent of, and reverse.
• Confess and repent on behalf of others for curses they have spoken.
• Breaking of curses and setting captives free.

Before you start praying, it is very important that you confess your sins, and ask for Jesus’ protection through His blood He shed for you

Prayer Points

• Lord I confess curses I have spoken over people as I mentioned earlier, as well as those I can't remember and were unaware of at the time.
• I repent of this irresponsible use of my tongue.
• We confess on behalf of others who spoke curses of which they are not even aware of and repent on their behalf.
• In the name of Jesus we cancel all curses spoken in such a way, reverse them and turn them into blessing. We declare them powerless and void of any effect that they may have on people.
• Lord, in Jesus name we exercise your authority over the evil forces that abuse curses spoken either in ignorance, or on purpose. By the authority exercised by Jesus and the ministering angels in response to our prayers, we declare their power useless.
• We exercise our authority in Christ by praying against the power that witchcraft attempts to implement through curses spoken by any motivation. We reverse the results thereof and render their effects useless, whether in the lives of individuals, families, organisations, countries or governments.
• By faith in the redeeming power of Jesus Christ, which He obtained through His final and complete victory over Satan, we exercise the authority we have as His children and representatives over all curse-related satanic activity, such as voodoo.
• We reverse any consequences and circumstances that were a result of curses and we proclaim blessing, as offered by Jesus Christ Himself, over those having been affected by such.
• We ask for wisdom, especially for children of God, but also for those acting in ignorance, when it concerns the use of the tongue, in order to avoid the proclamation of curses.
• We ask that you continually make us aware of our error the moment we have spoken a curse, whether it is by means of gossip, criticism or any expression of negative proclamation that concerns others. We ask for the required humility to there and then confess, repent of and reverse the words spoken.
• We surrender to you the control of our tongues, those of all other Christians, as well as those of innocent speakers acting in ignorance, and ask for immediate conviction so we can exercise the above-mentioned redeeming action.
• In conclusion we release your favour by faith to those affected by curses. We ask that your favour and provision bring them peace and joy.

Marriages

God instituted marriage with a purpose, which is to create a powerful unit that would withstand any onslaught if we understand the power thereof. It is also meant to function within the guidelines and directives provided in the Word of God. This is why marriage is called sacred, for it is set aside by the Lord, for Him. It was God's intention that man and woman unite in every possible area in life to the glory of God.

This is something that Satan fears intensely, which is why he makes every effort to ruin marriages. If he could hinder spouses to work together or get them to oppose one another's calling, he has achieved a major accomplishment.

Therefore partners are regularly distracted to pay more attention to other people or interests rather than to the purpose that God united them for. Here I'm thinking  of time devoted to children, friends, hobbies, sports, ministry etc. that are not shared, which causes either spouse to be neglected. This leads to spouses drifting apart. Satan (then often) sends other men or women to attract a spouse's attention; or uses children, friends or responsibilities to demand more attention than is required from either or both spouses, etc.

Any marriage needs to be worked at and needs guarding. It is said that it always takes two to tango. When issues arise it is never only one spouse's fault. It usually is a combination of issues that both spouses bring into the marriage due to our selfish carnal nature, which lead to an increasingly complex conflict within the marriage relationship. These are instigated and cheered on by evil forces.

In this brief introduction, which by no means is meant to be marriage counselling in any way, we have identified a few prayer points.

We will focus on both the human influence as well the influence of evil forces on the marriage.

Whilst praying please bring specific couples, whom you know or know about, by name before the Lord for each situation.

Lord we pray for marriages now.

·         Due to a lack of knowledge spouses in marriage do not necessarily understand the purpose with which you instituted marriage. We pray that you create opportunities for every spouse in both troubled and healthy marriages to learn why you destined for them to be in a covenant of marriage. Open our understanding that you have need for the power embedded in the unit of marriage to affect the world around us.

·         We realize that this unit and its potential are opposed in many ways. Various circumstances, people, misunderstanding etc. are used to attack and weaken this unit. The sole purpose thereof is to hamper the plans that you o Lord intends to accomplish via marriage unity. Therefore we take authority in the following areas:

o   We pray that mothers who put their children superior to their husbands will receive revelation to the error of their way. They will receive understanding of how their husbands feel about this, obtain compassion in their hearts, will repent of their behaviour, and take the necessary steps to remedy this crack in their relationship.

o   We pray for both men and women who put ambition ahead of God's ordinance for their marriage. We think of this in the context of career, sports, ministry, hobbies, acceptance by friends, religion, etc. (whilst praying about this please take liberty to list issues you are aware of).

o   We pray for children, both minor and mature, who through their selfish behaviour and sinful lifestyle put strain on their parents' relationship. We pray that you bring them, by means of circumstances as well as people you use to talk sense into their minds, to a realization of what they are doing to their parents, so they can repent and change.

o   We pray that where love in the marriage has been replaced by bitterness, fear, deadness and even hatred, that you would rekindle the love and make it blossom again.

o   We pray that any third party involved in marriage relationships be exposed and that their relationship, rather than that of those bound in holy matrimony, be destroyed. We pray that you lift the veil that blinds them to the consequences of their action.  Reveal the lies they believe to justify their actions, so that they can become aware of what they are doing, repent of it and work anew at the restoration of their marriage. Please protect spouses against temptation from outside parties.

o   Inclusive in the above we pray against the power of the third parties in the marriage bed - the nude women and men portrayed in nudist and pornographic material. We pray for deliverance of those struggling with this addiction and curse. We pray that you would send them a solution to their problem, make them aware of the consequences of their behaviour and preferably set them free miraculously. If they prayed about it, please reveal their problem to a caring believer friend, who would care enough to support them through a process of deliverance from this curse. Please protect them against the temptation as promised in 1 Corinthians 10:13.

o   We ask for an increase in the efficiency of communication between spouses and where training to this effect is required, that you would create in them the desire to look for it and then bring them into contact with people providing such training.

o   We pray for men to head up the partnership and to care for their wives as Christ head up the church and cares for her. Please break down the reluctance some experience, give them courage, and prompt their wives to let them take the lead. Please convict wives who wear the pants to the error of their behaviour.

o   We pray for wives to submit to their husbands and to renounce any involvement in worldly and unbiblical ideas and movements such as woman’s liberation activities, even if it is only such talk among their female friends.

o   We pray for each partner to honour their spouse as God's gift and instrument to help make the building of His Kingdom most effective.

o   Divorce is such an easy way out these days, my Lord, in spite of your power to save. We pray that you nullify the lie that divorce is the solution to marriage problems. We ask that you renew the desire in the hearts of both spouses to try again and again. Warm their hearts to one another, create in both the desire to seek help, and then put them in touch with help.

o   We take authority over the evil forces that only have destruction and pain in mind when it comes to marriages. We tell you 'the Lord rebukes you'. Lord, we ask that you counter every lie whispered in the ear of either spouse. Please give your angels command concerning spouses in trouble, in danger of losing what is actually dear to them, to serve and protect them.

o   In closing we declare a blessing over each and every marriage, whether blossoming or struggling. We pray for your presence to be there for them. We ask Holy Spirit to remind spouses to pray without ceasing for their marriages.

Praying against Violence

You may already know that violence is bred from anger, and anger is rooted in rejection, bitterness,

hurt, unforgiveness, and frustration. 

Violence is amplified and instigated by Satan, who came to kill, steal and destroy and, in for example the case of gangsterism, by peers with a lust for power and control, as well as the individual's overpowering desire to belong and be accepted.

The qualities of godly love are listed in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. This is essentially what the Lord is like and is therefore source of our love. It also happens to be the solution to problems caused by evil and the sinful nature.

If we, however, switch the source of these qualities and make it the human nature, which is twisted by circumstances and abuse, the passage will probably read like this: "Hatred, that results in violence, is impatient and unkind, it envies and boasts, is arrogant and rude. It insists on its way, is irritable and resentful, rejoices at wrongdoing and does not like the truth. Hatred does not tolerate, does not believe in much and has no hope."

Our prayer will therefore contain the following main components:

1.  Praying for Jesus to reveal Himself and his love to those involved in violence and

2.  Coming against the evil forces instigating this violence.

Jesus prayed on the cross: "Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing." I believe that most people that are "out of control" actually hate what they do and do not know why they do what they are doing. This is because they are usually blinded and overpowered by Satan.

Even Judas Iscariot did not realize what he was doing when he betrayed Jesus. Soon after he had done it, remorse filled his heart we read. Why was this? Up to that moment that he betrayed Jesus Satan had used him and had blinded him for what was happening. After Satan was done with Judas, he left him and then Judas realized what he had done and the natural reaction was remorse.

This is exactly why this intercession is so necessary. We will pray for such things as revelation to those blinded by their circumstances, peer pressure and demonic activity.

 Just keep in mind that these sound clips are only to get the prayers going and that fighting these forces is very much like playing in a rugby team – see http://bibbytes.blogspot.com/2011/12/wars-and-sports-part-one.html. We have to advance continuously until evil surrenders. If we do not advance through continuous prayer as the Holy Spirit commanded in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, evil will keep advancing as is currently the case.

Fortunately this prayer army works together as a team if we are committed enough, so the burden is not on any individual as such. If we all stay obedient by praying as the Holy Spirit reminds and guides us, He will see to it that the prayer continues consistently until Father God answers. “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God,” (Romans 8:26, 27).

When you pray and individuals or communities come to mind, please name them to the Lord.

Prayer Points

• ·         Lord, please send someone to each individual involved in violence to make them aware of your love and solution to their situation. Create in them the desire for love and peace.

• ·         Start knocking at their door and create in them an awareness of the new life available in you as an alternative to their lifestyle.

• ·         Reveal yourself to each individual who are succumbed by violence.

• ·         Please raise up a caring attitude within your body, the church, so we would be available to sacrifice our time for those you are sending us to.

• ·         We pray against the power of the sinful nature affecting and manipulating those involved in violence.

• ·         We pray against the power of the evil forces that instigate and kindle violence in the hearts and lives of those involved in violence.

• ·         We pray for individuals and communities that fall victim to violence. We pray for an attitude of forgiveness and love toward their enemies, for such will release your power to deliver them from their situation.

• ·         We pray for Christians in communities affected by violence to rise up in love, intercession and care. Give them grace to love their enemies as per your Word, and through that they may heap burning coals on their enemies' heads.

• ·         Lord we realize that persecutors and violent people do not often realize what they're doing and therefore we forgive them and ask that you be merciful to them. Please send you servants to them to love them with a godly love that they do not understand.

• ·         Please raise up a team of intercessors who can advance against the demons that instigate violence in our earth, like a champion rugby team or a victorious army. • ·         We release forgiveness into the hearts of those currently controlled by bitterness, hatred and anger. They will forgive those whom they currently feel sin against them.

• ·         Lord we reverse the qualities of hatred, which is the opposite of love, in those who became victim to it. We turn that anger into love in the spiritual realm so that those, who respond to it, can change.

• ·         Father we pray that you will reveal to people what they are doing, so they could see the results and consequences of their actions. Please make them aware of their motives and let them reconsider. Please lift the veil that Satan used to blind them.

• ·         Then Lord do we come against the evil forces that instigate all this violence. We tell you that the Lord rebukes you! Let the peace of the Lord replace the urge for violence that the instigating forces try put on their victims.
